November in Few Chapel

by Janet Shafer

Beautiful fall weather signals special worship services in Few Interfaith Chapel.

Sunday worship on November 6th will mark All Saints’ Day, with the solemn reading from the pulpit of the names of all deceased residents during the past year. The end of the Liturgical year is
designated on November 20th as Christ the King Sunday.

Thanksgiving will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 22nd at 7:00 p.m. with an interfaith service, including special music. November 29th is the First Sunday in Advent, pointing toward the light of the nativity. It will also be Student Sunday, so Chapel Interns Beth Glenn and Jacob Jordan will lead worship and preaching.

In addition, the Anti-Racism group meets on Tuesdays, and the Quest Bible Study will continue on Thursdays at posted times in the Life Enrichment calendar.

At present, both Duke Divinity Interns are primarily in worship leadership and pastoral visitation, but their involvement on campus is expected to increase later in the semester. Their presence is always an asset to our village.
